Motown Treasures

An interesting pivot from what else Kim was recording in 1967. Her 1967 material (which I like), seemed to still be chasing the general Motown sound. Not a duplicate, but certainly still in that vein. This track is much more L.A. to me (but not "Motown L.A.") and has a much harder edge than what she was recording. Not sure I hear "hit" in this, but it certainly could've been an album track had her first MGM album not leaned so jazz pop.

I'd love to hear more details about it if anyone knows!

I am intrigued by the Marvelettes' photo on the label.

That's the logo of the "6T'S Rhythm & Soul Society", a club with strong links to Kent Records which organises "Northern Soul" events in and around London that its members can attend.  This single release would have been given away as a freebie to people attending one of their events last year.
