Michelle David lives in The Netherlands, in Amsterdam. She is well known here and performed several times on television. She has a link with Motown: the theatre show “The sound of Motown” and she was backing vocalist for Diana Ross.

I copied the next article of the website.

Raised in New York in a church, Michelle David started singing at the age of four and joined her first group, The Mission of Love, when she was five. During her career, she toured the world with Broadway musical “Mama”, contributed to successful theatre shows such as “The Sound of Motown”, “Glory of Gospel” and “Mahalia” and recorded for artists such as Diana Ross and Michael Bolton. This all happened before releasing six critically acclaimed gospel-infused albums with the True-tones.
Michelle David & The True-tones know how to put on a glowing evening of classic soul. With their upbeat grooves, powerful vocals, and strong melodies, they have already conquered many festivals and numerous clubs. Having played renowned Dutch festivals such as Pinkpop and North Sea Jazz, the band toured from Spain to Scandinavia, leaving memorable impressions wherever they play; delivering an unforgettable live experience. In addition, the band’s discography has also been praised; receiving an Edison nomination (the Dutch Grammy), while their previous record “Truth & Soul” was named Album of the Month on FIP radio in France and Album of the Year at Craig Charles’ BBC Radio 6 Music show. The group did numerous radio and TV performances and were even invited to play their music on the biggest National TV show during the Winter Olympics 2022.
Michelle David (vocals), Paul Willemsen (guitar, bass guitar), Onno Smit (guitar, bass guitar) and Bas Bouma (drums) form a tight-knit unit that seamlessly blends their individual talents, resulting in the distinctive sound that defines Michelle David & the True-tones. The band’s instrumentation, characterized by groovy basslines, and Michelle David’s powerhouse vocals, becomes a vibrant tapestry in the studio setting. With their new album “Brothers & Sisters”, Michelle David & the True-tones have crafted a sonic journey which resonates with the soulful spirit of their live shows, inviting audiences to groove along with them on a timeless musical voyage.

The Italian version has a lot better stereo sound than the other (English) stereo version.

Temptations / Re: Spot the typo!

Are the Temptations really in that picture? I assume it's Otis above, but I don't recognize the other members. Or is it a picture taken far before 'My girl'?

Marvin Gaye / Re: Marvin Gaye on The TAMI Show (1964)

The Blossoms (with Darlene Love) did the backing vocals. They were also the backing vocals on "Shindig", a popular music program. They had several hits like "He's a rebel" which they recorded but was credited to The Crystals. They sang on many more hitsongs.
Their story looks a bit like that of The Andantes. Recording a lot of songs, but not being mentioned under their real name.

Recently I saw this EP on spotify. Funny, cause Martha is the lead singer on only 2 songs ('I'll have to let him go' & 'My baby won't come back"). On the other 2 songs Gloria Williamson is the leading lady. The group was then called The Vells (4 ladies, just like the Primettes). Four songs from the very beginning of the group.

For fun, this clip I made on YT. The Hollywood Palace show was used (among others) for a Dutch TV programme. I'm not sure whether you can see this clip (blocked by YT). The new clip starts at 3.20.

"My girl" was a small hit in 1989 thanks to a commercial of Lidl.

Well Roger, that's quite a great work you did to make this list. You're right about "The same old song" which was a bigger hit for the Motions, to my regret. The Four Tops had their far more better version.
Funny, in 1989 (a year after Gordy's sale) "Reflections" re-entered the Top 40 and made it to number 3!
BTW  The documentary (Hitsville-the Making of Motown) was interesting. I think you all have seen it before, for me it was the first time and I loved it.
BTW Canada is in America. Haagsma didn't mention outside USA.  ;)
