Thank you kindly, John. HMHSY is still my favourite-ever record.

I've always loved the single's UK B-side:-

These are troubling times for all of us, so I am relying on the music to pull us through.

I wonder if anybody took action when the Johnny Mathis & Deniece Williams duet album listed their cover version of YOUR PRECIOUS LOVE as HEAVEN MUST HAVE SENT YOU. I've seen the mis-title appear in later CD appearances of the track.

Does it mean Holland-Dozier-Holland raked in a pot of money that should have gone to Ashford & Simpson?

I'd hope that the error would have been noticed and A&S duly paid.

I still remember the first time I ever heard HMHSY and to this day I crank up the volume when I hear it. Fortunately Sirius XM radio considers it worthy of frequent airplay. I know that Motown had other priorities and maybe even more artists than they needed during that mid 60s explosion, but how in the world did they fail to recognize the sheer majesty of that song and not push it to the very limits? 1966 was a phenomenal year for Motown and I would put this one probably at the top of the list. Even though Bonnie's version was a deserved hit a few years later, this is still the definitive version of an absolutely awesome song.

You may have noticed that our Eric aka Silly Wasn't I has been missing for a while. I have been speaking to him and he hopes to be back in the new year. :)

I don't see how this song could fail to be a favorite for ANYONE! It may not be my number one Motown song but it is certainly in the top five. Of course this video presentation of it looks a little odd because you have the three male members of the group in the background doing the best they can when it is pretty obvious that all the background vocals were female (presumably the ever-present Andantes.) But still an AWESOME record that should have been a major hit.
