Rose's Motown album is a quirky delight. This has always been my favourite track on it:-



I don't have the album any more. Can anyone tell me who wrote/arranged/produced this gem?

Wasn't this one of Jeffrey Bowen' s first projects with Motown before he was assigned to The Temptations Song For you, and wings of love lps years later? Also I believe that he produced Bonnie Pointer's two fabulous Motown lps featuring intersting covers of Motown classics. He was the Producer but I think he co / wrote alot of tracks with various other writers including Eddie Hazel&,Lionel Richie.
Eric, I think quirky is an accurate desciption of some of his productions. I would add odd in a delightful way.

This was the lead single from Rose's Motown album. It's not that commercial and I'm wondering why it was picked (it's a bit like what happened with Gloria Jones):-



It was the shortest track on the album, if that means anything, and one of only two tracks Jeffrey Bowen co-composed on the album, although he produced the whole thing.

I like this a lot more than I did back then!

I recall when this lp was released , her cover of The Elgins Darling Baby received alot of air play, but I don't think it was released as a single.

Well, Mike - Darling Baby was released here in the UK on TMG1037 with Whole New Thing on t'other side. I can't remember if darling Baby was the official A-side here.....
