No Greater Love is only documented as being recorded by the Mynah's and Marvin who actually had two attempts at the lead and yes there is just simply a piano and organ present on the recording so yes the stripped back version is as the original. It seems at that point they were recording quite a few gospel tinged tracks for listed around the same time are The Lemon Sisters and two of the Mynah's recordings I Got You) (In My Soul ) and Go On And Cry both of which have a couple of leads listed which look like they still exist.
The Underdogs version utilises the Mynahs orginal track that's why is sounds similiar
