Still awaiting 4 Originals Motown albums on CD.  BBR or Universal Motown Japan - who will it be?

But 2024 is Motown 65 - another chance to celebrate - Tamla Records was formed January 12 1959.  Not even 4 months away and Universal Motown Japan are good at celebrating such events. 

It's already 5 years since the "Motown Did It First" campaign which included the release of some titles not previously available as individual CDs - both Earl Van Dyke albums and Shorty Long's "Here Comes The Judge" album that had only been officially released as part of collections. 

Only last year we saw the re-release of several Motown albums as part of the 140 CD "Throwback Soul" campaign (including a couple of previous Hip-O-Select issues).  https://www.discogs.com/label/2814470-Throwback-Soul

I'm not convinced that all is lost.

Thanks for the link MS. It's long list but I've either got it or more likely I don't want it. UMe have already admitted that the glory days are over and I'm so thankful for what has been released in the past almost 25 years. With a little help from my friends I managed to get Blinky out just in the nick of time as it would not happen today! The two that I want out are IJH 'Is in this Bag' and the Blackberries. I have been lead to believe that all the hard work has been done but no one will press 'go'!

If I recall correctly, the Ivy Jo Hunter album was being readied for release by Reel Music years ago but they seemed to fold.  Nonetheless they did put out some interesting Motown stuff by Chris Clark, Jimmy Ruffin, Gordon Staples, Bettye Lavette, Gloria Jones and Sister's Love.

Indeed they did MS. Blinky was another that had a album all ready to go but it didn't happen. Thankfully Andy & Joe gave us much much more with a double CD. Hope that you have got it?
