That was a big NS tune in the '70s John, even got included on a Capitol NS compilation LP in 1978 called "Capitol Soul Casino".

The song was on the "B" side of her "Face It Girl It's Over" which managed to be a hit on Billboard's Hot-100.

She occasionally got the groove on other occasions ... her version of "Uptight" is a bit NS and frequently gets played on JazzFM ...



And this one wouldn't sound out of place at a "do" ...

I've been known to buy CDs twice because I didn't realise I already had a copy!!  :)

I see that the Nancy CD doesn't include her version of The Fortunes tune "You've Got Your Troubles", which was issued as the "A" side of her version of "Uptight" in the UK (in the US it was the "B" side).  It's quite nifty, I wonder if any NS DJ has ever tried giving it a spin?

Agreed, what a great version. I wish that she had recorded more like this. BTW back in the day I bought her version of 'I've Never Been To Me' which I now can't stand thanks to Charlene!
