A Beginners Guide to Northern Soul - The Mancunian.
« on: March 08, 2023, 02:01:33 pm »
Interesting article about the origins of "Northern Soul" and news of a current upsurge in interest amongst the youth of Manchester.

I'm not sure if I agree with some of the "sociological" points of view expressed in the article but there are also some venues mentioned that Mr Snakepit might want to investigate.

If Northern Soul hasn’t made it onto your playlist yet, it’s time to start now…

I've never been down a mine in my life.

these articles usually roll out the same guff.

Those Venues....well at present there are loads of events around Greater Manchester.
The Spitfire (Bolton area) has a good reputation.
The Band on the wall is the current home of the Twisted Wheel revival club, but the promoter has secured a new basement venue just a stones throw from the original Wheel site. I'm interested in both...but mainly the Wheel 'club 66'
