I've loved every Motown version of this fabulous song, especially this one:-



But there are limits - didn't Jermaine Jackson release a soul-less version (I still have the scars from screaming Noooooo! at the top of my voice)!

I remember Dave Godin  creating a fuss about GK & TPs record in B&S.
He was of the opinion that "IIWYW" was a poor record, beneath the talents of Gladys and was only fit for ...Petula Clark,

Dave Godin said that? My flabber has truly been gasted.

I think Gladys Knight's take is one of the best Motown 45s. I recall Alan "Fluff" Freeman raving about the single for a long time and not understanding why the British record buying public were impervious to its charms.

Gloria's version was a demo which was finally saw the light of day when 'Share My Love' was released on CD in 2009 by Reel Music.

One wonders if Gloria recorded demos for her other songs.

She is such a good singer - and I love her Motown album - so I'd love to hear more.
