I loved Ruby's beach music stuff on the Ripete label and the Swamp Dogg album was cool too. Sorry to hear of her passing.

Oh dear ... more sad news :(

Her main claim to fame would have to be her original version of "Casanova" #9 R&B and #51 Hot-100 on Billboard's charts in 1967 ..



I have to admit that I was late to the party with "Casanova" as my introduction to the song was via the Disco/Dance version recorded by Coffee which became an unexpected, but fully deserved, #13 UK Hit in 1980.

Of course, here in Britain she would be best known for her 1968 recording "Just Loving You" which has been a regular spin at "Soul" events for decades.
