Motown Brass

Have always loved the the Herb Alpert-esque 6 by 6 by Earl Van Dyke and the Motown Brass.

Not being well educated in the rules of music, I'm not sure what 6 By 6 refers to but I presume it means something.

Have we any idea who the Motown Brass players on the track are?

6 by 6 refered to 6 rythym players and 6 horn/ brass players.
Henry Cosby was behind the project so he will be on it. Probably John Trudell too.

I've often wondered if there were more Motown Brass recordings in those vaults. If only it had been a hit!

Let's not forget The Impact Of Brass on Rare Earth - there also seems to be a project started but never finished by Funky Brass which consisted on half dozen or so Motown backing tracks by Stevie, Supremes, Edwin amongst others with the addition of brass instruments...
