I remember when I first heard this I thought that it was Diana! It was played a lot on Radio 1 by Tony Blackburn, Fluff & Rosco. It's been recorded by many including Dusty but has never been a hit. Why?

I remember it from Big Hits vol 5(??)..I think I had heard it prior, so it must have been TB show.
I.agree John..how did it fail.
BTW Mine was a lovely green demo which I got from Sharon Davis...happy days as a collector
 Love the flip too.

Like so many it just slipped through the net. I wonder if DRATS had got to it first would it have been the big hit that they needed at the time?

The flip is very Diana Ross..you can hear why Berry wanted Rita to be the replacement.

ICGBTLIFFY is a wonderful song - there must be plenty of cover versions out there - and one that quite a few people, who are not Motown fans, recognise.

I've always loved the song. Personally, I'd rather hear somebody else have a go at it. The version by Diana Ross is better but my favourite Motown interpretation is by Kiki Dee.

I know Dusty recorded it too, was Kiki a background singer on that version?

Dusty's is my fav version. According to the Dusty bible the backing singers were unrecorded but were possibly Lesley Duncan & Kay Garner. This is the original recording but there is a much better version that was issued as a bonus track on the US expanded edition of 'Brand New Me'.

Discovered a 'new' version by Dutch singer Patricia Paay. It was recorded in 1983 and I'm liking it? One time Motown recording artist Stephanie Mills released a discofied version in 1982.
