AS successful? Yes, I believe that would've been possible. More successful? Probably not. I don't believe the company was ever going to allow The Supremes to (consistently) eclipse Diana Ross in the 1970s. Was it a concentrated effort to squash The Supremes? I don't think so. I just don't think the company consistently put enough effort (and money) behind the group post-Ross.
As an aside about this video, as helpful and common as AI narration can be in this day and age, it still doesn't sound entirely natural as the cadences and pronunciations are often unnatural. Never having created a video with AI vocal, I don't know if this is possible, but it would be great if it offered an option where you could insert phonetic pronunciations where needed. Awkwardly, the narration kept calling her "SIGH-REETA." As far as I've ever heard, her name was pronounced "SIR-REETA."
