Every Time I See You I Go Wild
« on: January 08, 2020, 07:42:34 pm »
One of young Stevie's best but forgotten tracks. Was stuck on the 'b' side of 'I'm Wondering' and is a million times better.

JJ Barnes recorded it first but it was vaulted until COM2 in 2005!

This oddly melodic track was one of Stevie's best pre- 70s tracks. It should have been issued as the A side. I think it would have charted much better than the bland Im wondering, which was kind of a sequal  to I was made to love you.

This is deffinitly a track that should have been a big hit. I think the complicated arrangement was far a head of its time. There was nothing like it at Motown during that erra. I was surprised when Brainstorm recorded a version in the late 70s or 80s as I didn't think anyone else realized how special this track was.

I quite like "I'm Wondering", always have.  :)

Funnily I've been playing my way through TCMS7 and both tunes came on only an hour or so back.

I was thinking that maybe Marvin Gaye had done "Every Time I See You I Go Wild" as well, but of course I was getting confused by the J.J. Barnes version where he sounds so much like MPG that it is untrue.

Nice song but I am not sure I could agree that it is better than I'm Wondering.
