Shocking that this classic remained in the vaults for 50 years! Shorty is at his very best on this beautiful song.

It is a lovely record, John. Complete with strings and backing vocals, one wonders how close it came to an official release.

If I had all the money in the world, I'd pay for Ace Records to release a second Shorty Long CD, collecting the few tracks not on the first, plus all these wonderful vaulted items.

I wish interviewers would ask those Motown stars still with us about some of the  long departed artists. I got some nice tid-bits from the lovely Martha Reeves when I asked her about Shorty. It sounds like he was a fun guy to have around.
