Does anyone have a handy chronology of group members for The Originals?

There are pictures of five guys and four guys and some of the faces appear only once.

Perhaps this shifting of membership was a factor in the guys not being promoted much in their early days.

Eric, my knowledge of the Originals is less than zero I'm afraid!

Now, I am relying on my unreliable memory here and hoping somebody can confirm or refute this but - I've read that it was Lamont Dozier's idea for the guys to form a recording group. The idea was that the Originals would be an HDH managed or produced act but the plan fell through when HDH had their dispute with Motown and left the company.

We've Got A Way Out Love was an incomplete HDH track and I'm wondering if there were others.

"Suspicion" was HDH.
In fact when I first heard it on bootleg tape, I thought it was Eddie Holland.

Found this and I agree that's not nearly as good!

This version sounds odd as well!

According to Discogs ....

The Originals were a soul group signed to Motown Records from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. They came together as Freddie Gorman, Walter Gaines, C.P. Spencer, Hank Dixon and Joe Stubbs. Stubbs left after less than a year with the group, and Spencer left in 1973 and was replaced by Ty Hunter. Spencer rejoined the group in the late 1970s. They were used extensively as background singers at Motown, as well as having their own hits like "Baby, I'm For Real" and "The Bells".

The line-up on their Post-Motown LP, released by Fantasy Records on 1978, looks to be Freddy Gorman, Ty Hunter, Hank Dixon and Walter Gaines.
