I've loved Marvin's 1968 version on the In The Groove album for over 50 years now...



...but have only recently clocked his funky instrumental version from the What's Going On 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition set that I've had since 2011 ...but somehow ignored...!!



...love it...!!

Great song but I have always preferred Paul Petersen's original version.

My beef with Paul's version is his weak and flat vocal plus I've never understood why Frank Wilson treated it to such a poor and weak backing track.

Oh my goodness, it's Paul Petersen for me, too. As a single, it was one of the thumpiest songs in my collection - love it to bits!

I don't mind PP's version, it's jut that weak backing track I find slightly irritating.

I love the Sweets' version but, then, those ladies could do no harm in my eyes.
