Although I have never heard of the vast majority of these artists, I will consider this because as a girl group fan, there would simply HAVE to be some good ones on there with such an extensive collection. Happy to see anything still coming out on CD this far into the future.

Thanks Roger. I had not played that album in quite some time so I forgot that Your Precious Love was on there.

The only Motown connection that comes to mind was Mary Wilson making a guest appearance on his Come See About Me album, where she sang on the title cut.

I have seen those Commitment CDs, both Volume 1 and 2. Nice music choices but I could never quite figure out what the group was all about.

I agree with your assessment of both that song and the album as a whole. It is really a shame that the Marvelettes had such a relatively short career, but as we know, there were many reasons behind that.

One of the better songs from that album.

So far I have only had time to scroll through the list at a pretty good speed. So is Freda Payne on there? Or Martha Reeves? Joe Simon? Joe Tex? Tyrone Davis? Ann Peebles? Denise LaSalle? (I know I am reaching now!) But my biggest gripe is putting so many of these newcomers on there that have not been around long enough to prove themselves. Give me longevity over a few big hits any day.

I took a quick spin through the rest of that list. My conclusion is that most of the voters were born after 1980. Definitely some bizarre omissions.

I will read the entire list another time but I stopped reading when H.E.R. came in ahead of both Jackie Wilson and Etta James. Absurd with a capital A!!!!

Too bad. I would have been interested in a CD of this......

Great track listing! Was this ever available on CD?

Never saw that one before. Looks interesting if they are all original versions, but if those are 1990s or 2000's re-recordings, then no thanks.

What other artists have released Collected sets. The only other one I have seen was by ABBA.

Always thought this was the 'Las best track and yes I have read the Motown comparison comments. Not sure I see that aspect of it, but definitely a cool song.

Absolutely awful to lose two great musical talents so close to one another. Gwen released some really cool jams, my favorite being the funky "Damn Right It's Good."
