Merrilee Rush

Merrilee Rush (born Merrilee Gunst, January 26, 1944) is an American singer, best known for her recording of the song "Angel of the Morning" a US Top 10 hit which earned her a Grammy nomination for female vocalist of the year in 1968. In the same year PP Arnold had a Top 30 hit with it the UK. Sadly Merrilee never had another major hit despite her next two singles being the excellent 'That Kind of Woman' and her Vanilla Fudge-esque treatment of 'Reach Out'.

Much as I like Merrilee Rush, it's the original version of ANGEL OF THE MORNING for me.
