I've just re-discovered all those lead vocal-less Motown Karaoke tracks and have been slowly working my way through them.

The Funk Brothers do some amazing work on these records. It's impressive how there are little additions and subtractions as each song progresses, to keep the whole thing interesting. And there are some weird sounding instruments in use.

I just wish there had been more of these backing tracks released. They must be a dream for all those budding amateur remixers out there!

I wish that I had bought these at the time Eric. I'm sure that they are long out of print!
