It really is two different songs. Like these two.

- an amazing live performance 54 years ago!

The guys would be in fashion today. Very tight jackets & short trousers :)



This is my fav version from 1968. It should have been massive!

They were indeed like two different songs John, apart from the lyrics ( which were strangely missing from the instrumentals :) )

The same could be said for these two, though at least there are a few vocals in these "instrumental" versions to give us a clue that they could be the same song …

According to DFTMC, this one was completed on 16th August 1966, pre-dating all the later versions.



It sounds very like the 1968 version on the Special Occasion album. Am I missing something?
