Dusty Springfield was a huge fan of soul music and Motown in particular. She was responsible for raising Motown's profile in the UK when things were not going so well. The brilliant RSG! Motown special was her idea and got the backing from the likes of Vicki Wickham. It's never been officially released on DVD which is shameful and is all Dave Clark's fault as he owns the rights! However it's been on & off YT for years. If you haven't seen it now is your chance. Please note Dusty chose to sing with Martha and not who expected to be chosen which did not go down well at all! C'est la vie!

Dusty makes a surprise appearance on page 200 of the new Lamont Dozier book. It's a small treat for those who buy the thing!

My pal Bob is a huge Dusty fan and he came to visit this week. He mentioned that a trawl of the vaults had unearthed some new thought-to-be-lost recordings. He may have said just two tracks. One was a version of Gladys Knight's Just Walk In My Shoes. These newly found tracks were, if I remember correctly, recorded for TV shows.

Does anyone know more about them?
