I watched a very enjoyable documentary on Ronnie Scotts' jazz club last night...BBC four. I recommend it to you.
I was wondering if any Motown artists appeared at the club ...say between 1965-1975?
Not all the artists who played there were 100% jazz...so it's possible that some did play there.

Incidentally ... reading that review ... the lead vocalist at that Funk Brothers/Ronnie Scott concert was someone called "Larry Johnson" ....

Not very flattering that review. However I have to say that I saw that 'show' in Manchester and I totally agree with it.
Joe Hunter died within weeks ( days) of the show I saw.
I would like to visit the re-vamped club if a trip to London ever presents itself.

I wonder if Jr. Walker or Martha ever appeared there? Martha has made several appearances at Camden's Jazz Club

Martha was the artist I had in mind who might have appeared.

Seems that Ronnie Scotts have Ms Reeves on their list of people who might appear there ... eventually ...

That 2007 "Funk Brothers" line-up might be largely the same as the one that Jack Ashford put together for his "Divas Of Motown" concerts in late 2009.  Of course for that there were some "name" Motown vocalists ... Chris Clark, Thelma Houston, Mable John, Brenda Holloway and a couple of former Supremes, so there was no need to rope in Larry Johnson.
