Mary & Flo on "Reflections" Yes or no???
« on: November 21, 2019, 11:00:13 am »
In the Holland Brothers book,  they state that there was only one Supreme (Diana) on "Reflections," along with backing vocalists.  I've always heard that Mary and Flo were on "Reflections" and "In And Out of Love."  What is the truth???

Well according to TCMS7 only Mary + the Andantes are on 'Reflections'. 'In And Out of Love' is Andantes only who overdubbed Mary & Florence.

But there is the original version of "In And Out Of Love" which features just Mary and Flo and the Wrecking Crew providing the backing track.

Isn't the original version a Snakepit -   Funk Bros production to which they never added vocals ?

Ah well Paul, you're telling me something I didn't know.  The UK Motown office told me, back in the '70s, the original version was cut in LA with Mary and Flo and, then HDH didn't like the backing track and went back to Detroit and cut a new track and recorded some additional backing vocals by the Andantes and layered these on top.  Of course, as I have since discovered not everything the UK Motown office told me years ago has turned out to be correct.
